New hard disk! – Seagate 7200 RPM 1.5 TB

Hi there 
some days ago i bought a new hard disk. It’s a Seagate Barracuda (7200 RPM) with 1.5 TB of capacity with 32 MB of cache (more infos here…).
It’s performances are pretty good, i was concerned only about it’s state when it would be arrived because my cousin’s hard disk blow up (A Seagate too):P. Fortunatly my “little” disk wasn’t DOA (Dead On Arrive) and i quickly mounted it up and formatted.
How much does it costs? It tooks me about 125 €… not much for this big drive.
Using 9600 GT on Mac OS X

When you install OS X on a normal PC with a nVidia 9600 GT, you can get in troubles. For example, when you move a window it’s content disappear (only it’s margin is showed) and to see the window content again you have to minimize the window and show it again. I think this is a video driver problem which doesn’t recognise the graphic card. But, since OS X Leopard have 9600 GT drivers you have only to fix some .kext and import a gfxstring
First of all reboot and boot up with -x option (safe mode prevents from loading specific drivers, so you won’t see any glich or window content disappear –NOTE– if you can’t surf on internet in safe mode you have to download the programs in normal mode (i know, it’s stressful but you have to do it)) go on /System/Library/Extensions and copy NVDANV50Hal.kext and NVDAResman.kext to your Desktop.
Now right click on NVDANV50Hal.kext and select Show Package Contents and then go in Contents.

Questa non è di sicuro la prima guida che tratta questo argomento, ma mi andava di fare qualcosa, di scrivere una guida appunto, basandomi sulle mie esperienze.
Prima di tutto, premetto che installare Mac OS X (qualsiasi versione) su un normale PC è illegale. Se vi piace Leopard, vi consiglio di comprare un computer Apple (o almeno una copia del sistema operativo) perchè ne vale veramente la pena.
Per installare Mac OS Leopard avete bisogno di un ISO Patchata; Vi consiglio questa:

Beh… dovevo togliermi questo sfizio, e poi mi sembrava giusto che insieme a Linux e Windows dovesse esserci anche il caro Mac OS.
Ho installato X utilizzando un iso patchata iPC Univesal e non è stata un installazione senza problemi, anzi, è stata troppo piena di problemi. Lan, video e audio non funzionanti inizialmente, ma dopo molte modifiche e fix (grazie al supporto di InsanelyMac) sono riuscito a fare andare tutto. D’altronte, c’era da aspettarselo dato che il supporto hardware della Apple è limitato ai suoi modelli.
Per ora vi lascio con degli screenshots, ma presto arriverà anche una guida
